We are currently seeking a Progress DB / OpenEdge BL Developer to join our team. This role will work remotely during the Covid-19 pandemic until otherwise determined, but will eventually work on location. This role may work onsite at local offices in either Plano, TX or St. Louis, MO.

Job Responsibilities Include:
* Assists in the programming of changes to information systems
* Review user specifications/requirements in order to complete the technical design, technical documentation, programming, and testing of changes which have been assigned to them
* Resolve issues and/or defects which may be reported as a result of faults in the production system
* Participate and contribute to technical feasibility studies, business cases, proposals, and the assessment of 3rd party applications / products
* Prepare detailed business requirements (BRD), functional specifications (FSD), design models, system workflows and technical design document (TDD)
* Design, Code and develop the database components
* Test the Web application & DB components as per the test cases and ensure quality product with high system performance, reliability, and scalability
* Provide support to production systems, troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis and implement fixes
* Collaborate with other developers, QA and other stakeholders and ensure customer needs are met
Basic Qualifications:
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in PROGRESS 4GL / OpenEdge development
Preferred Skills:
* Strong knowledge of Progress Database concepts
* Strong knowledge on Application and Database Design
* Strong knowledge of Progress 4GL,/OpenEdge 9/10/11/11.7 concepts
* Should know how to implement Webservices, XML parsing, ProDataSets etc.
* Strong analytical and problem solving skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Analyst Skills - Strong communication, troubleshooting and documentation skills
* Proficiency in one or more general purpose programming languages such as Progress versions 9.1x, Open Edge 10.x to 11.7 (CHUI) on Linux/AIX Progress versions 9.1x, Open Edge 10.x to 11.7 (CHUI) on Linux/AIX
* Understanding of software skills such as business analysis, development, maintenance and software improvement
* Advanced knowledge of application, data and infrastructure architecture disciplines
* Understanding of architecture and design across all systems
* Working proficiency in developmental toolsets
* Knowledge of industry wide technology strategies and best practices
* An understanding of the US Healthcare industry
