Referral Coordinator ~ Utica Park Clinic Patient Access Center

The UPC Patient Access Center is currently looking for a member to join our team! The Referral Coordinator will report directly to the Administrative Director and will concentrate on a wide range of customer service activities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES

Attend JOC conference calls for key updates
*

Keep open communication with other entities
*

Ensure that all referrals are addressed in a timely manner
*

Maintain patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal financial insurance information
*

Provide coverage to clinics without referral specialists
*

Keep all referral staff updated with anything relevant
*

Document upkeep in EPIC
*

Maintain appropriate logs, records, and reports
*

Demonstrate and apply knowledge of medical terminology, high proficiency of general medical office procedures including HIPAA regulations
*

Ensure patient flow, medical record availability and completeness, schedule physician/provider appointments and maintain physician appointment schedules

QUALIFICATIONS

* High School Diploma or GED

* Previous customer service experience preferred

* Previous medical office experience preferred

SKILLS

Excellent written/verbal/telephone communication skills are essential, along with basic computer knowledge, and a basic understanding of insurance, referrals and medical records. This position will adhere to all policies, procedures and regulations to ensure patient safety and compliance.
