Job Description:

Calix is looking for an experienced Contracts Paralegal to serve as a key member of our small but mighty legal team. The Contracts Paralegal will have primary responsibility over all areas of contract lifecycle management and legal operations, including managing our contract management system and related processes and supporting all aspects of contracting. The role will also include participation in commercial contract review and negotiation under attorney supervision. The position requires a strong foundation in contracts and demonstrated experience in administering an end to end contract management system leveraging technology and automation. The ideal candidate must possess excellent drafting, communication and organizational skills, with meticulous attention to detail. As the Contracts Paralegal, you are technologically savvy, able to issue spot general contract issues, have good business judgment and can collaborate effectively across functions to drive projects to completion, all while demonstrating a willingness to roll-up your sleeves and pitch in within a dynamic and growing environment.

This role will report to the Associate General Counsel, Corporate and Compliance.

Key Responsibilities
- Serve as administrator of our SaaS-based contract management system, including developing and managing workflows, running reports, archiving contracts, training and reviewing content for process improvements
- Manage the contract lifecycle, from intake through execution and filing and liaise with business teams on contract-related questions
- Administer and maintain key legal records to meet legal and organization needs
- Manage and publish contract metrics to support organizational oversight
- Maintain and assist in administration of contract templates, policies and processes; help prepare updates as needed
- Assist with preparation, proofreading, editing and review of standard legal documents
- Able to work well independently and be proactive in driving projects to completion
- Assist with developing a contract playbook of non-standard terms and conditions with associated business approvals and recommending process improvement as necessary
- Serve as primary contact to address questions related to contract administration and related processes
- Other projects and general administrative duties in support of legal function

Skills and Requirements:
- Certified paralegal with 5+ years of contracts paralegal experience in-house at a technology company, ideally in a public company
- Excellent drafting, organizational and verbal and written communication skills with a high level of professionalism
- Demonstrated end to end experience building and managing a contract management system
- Meticulous attention to detail with demonstrated maturity and good judgment
- Ability to work independently and to prioritize and accommodate time sensitive demands in a fast-paced environment
- Proactive, collegial and enthusiastic team player with a strong work ethic
- Unequivocal commitment to ethics, integrity, confidentiality and discretion
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional groups with clear ability to understand and support business needs
- Extremely technologically savvy with strong proficiency in cloud-based technologies, automation, and office applications such as MS Office 365 Suite, DocuSign and Adobe Acrobat Pro; experience with Ironclad a plus
- Demonstrated ability to leverage technology and become proficient with new systems
