Job Description:

Job Summary:This entry-level position is accountable for assisting in the preparation and analysis of data and preliminary reports and for maintenance and initial reconciliation of accounts. This position is also responsible for implementing improvements to the workflow process.

- Perform variance analysis.
- Ensure the timely and accurate preparation and analysis of financial data.
- Reconcile designated accounts using proper accounting techniques, to verify account balances.
- Enter/upload designated journal entries into the financial system.
- Analyze designated entries to ensure accurate financial records; investigates unusual items as they are identified to ensure amounts are proper.

Education/Experience:
- Requires a Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting from an accredited college or university.
- Requires2+ years of accounting experience in Billing, Collections, Month End Close, General Ledger, Financial Reporting, Forecasting, Audit & Internal Controls and Bank Reconciliations, preferably in the Healthcare industry.
- Prefer a CPA candidate.

Knowledge:
- Requires basic knowledge of general accounting principles and methods; prefer knowledge of both Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Statutory Accounting principles (SAP).
- Prefer knowledge of accounting, finance and budget/cost.
- PeopleSoft experience is a PLUS

Skills and Abilities:
- Requires good oral and written communication skills.
- Requires the ability to research and resolve problems through interaction with company wide personnel.
- Requires the ability to organize and prioritize work assignments.
- Requires the ability to work independently and exercise sound business judgment.
- Requires strong computer skills including, Word, PowerPoint, advanced Excel and Access skills (including pivot tables & v lookups).
