Job Description:
Position Title: Phlebotomist Job Code: 132
Position Summary: Phlebotomists prepare blood samples and clean and sterilize equipment, following strict safety precautions.Must work well under pressure and be sensitive to confidentiality and accuracy in recording a patient's blood history. Has direct contact with patients and must create an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures, taking blood pressure, pulse and respiration readings.

Minimum Qualifications: Certified Phlebotomy Technician: Drawing blood specimens in a skillful, safe and accurate manner. Bedside manner, attention to detail, procedural skills and quality focus.

Essential Functions/Job Duties:
Analyzing Information. Infection Control. Creating a safe, effective environment. Performing diagnostic procedures. Informing others of results.

Work Environment/Physical Demands: Lab Environment, Hospital Environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to occasionally loud. Exposure to disturbed and potentially aggressive patients is possible.

Position Type, Expected Hours of Work and Travel: Schedule 6am to 9:30 am - Monday thru Friday - and one day weekly until noon (as needed).
