The Washington Post is looking for two assistant producers to work on "Post Reports," The Post's flagship daily news podcast.

Assistant producers are an integral part of the show's daily production process, working on everything from planning coverage to crafting audio stories to research and booking. Our producers work closely with other journalists throughout the newsroom to turn their reporting and insights into compelling audio.

The ideal candidates have experience working quickly with breaking news as well as producing longer-form features.

Candidates must be able to work collaboratively on a tight-knit team, as well as build and manage relationships outside the team to identify and shepherd great story ideas. They should be skilled at finding and cutting tape and also understand best practices for recording and mixing.

Experience and interest in sound design or engineering is a plus, as is reporting experience. Pro Tools experience is preferred but not required.

This position is based in our Washington newsroom. Once we resume normal operations, the position will not be eligible for remote work.
