Job Description:

POSITION PURPOSE:

Under the general direction of Chief Corporate Compliance Officer, the Compliance Coordinator provides support to the organization in coordinating all Federal and State compliance and regulatory requirements. This includes research and development of current and upcoming compliance expectations to provide assistance with developing Renown policies and procedures. This position will also assist with any audit preparations including internal, external and Federal/State audits.

NATURE AND SCOPE:

The responsibilities of the incumbent will include:

Demonstrating strong knowledge of healthcare compliance laws and regulations (e.g., HIPAA, Medicare, Medicaid, Anti-Kickback, Fraud and Abuse laws, False Claims Act) in order to coordinate an effective Compliance Program.

Coordinate annual Compliance Risk Assessments and Compliance Reviews.

Examine and review departmental policies, procedures, and practices to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and accreditation standards.

Assist in the development and implementation of compliance policies and procedures.

Assess, improve and streamline existing compliance programs.

Assist in the development of new compliance programs.

Develop compliance auditing and monitoring plans.

Work with various departments in establishing coding audits.

Develop and deliver compliance training programs and communications.

Lead auditing and monitoring projects to address specific healthcare compliance risks.

Investigate and resolve compliance issues.

Develop compliance analysis and reporting.

Demonstrate high levels of communication from all level of internal and external audiences.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Requirements - Required and/or Preferred

Education:

Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing and speaking English. A Bachelor's degree in Healthcare administration or business-related field is preferred.

Experience:

Minimum of three years healthcare related compliance experience.

License(s):

None.

Certification(s):

CHC (Certified in Healthcare Compliance), CHPC (Certified in Healthcare Privacy Compliance) or CCEP (Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional) preferred, or ability to obtain within one (1) year of hire Preference will be given to those individuals with a CPC (Certified Professional Coder) or CIC (Certified Inpatient Coder)

Computer / Typing:

Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word and have the ability to use the computer to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc..
