Job Description:

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Reliability Engineer is an individual contributor with very good communication skills as well as strong technical knowledge in equipment optimization, asset care strategies, and continuous improvement methodologies. They have a solid understanding of CMMS data utilization, job plan optimization, component failure analysis, and lubrication best practices. The Reliability Engineer is responsible for maximizing asset utilization at the lowest life cycle cost through technical leadership, coaching, and loss elimination efforts through Zero Loss Culture. This role will report directly to the Maintenance & Reliability Manager while building a strong network within the maintenance, technical and operations communities of practice.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Planning and Scheduling
- Provides technical expertise in optimizing job plans to include detailed work steps, specialized tools/skills, and critical tolerances
- Uses CMMS data analysis to determine maintenance work effectiveness and drive improvements in PM frequency
- Develops standard work procedures and coaches/assesses technician capability to drive out top losses

Lubrication Management
- Drives Lubrication Management System to enable world class precision lubrication
- Displays expertise in lubrication theory and best practices
- Develops others technical capabilities to ensure sustained reliability

Failure Analysis
- Leads component failure analysis program
- Develops deep technical capability in component functionality and root cause analysis within self and others
- Provides technical expertise and coaching to implement prevention methods
- Uses data analysis to identify and eliminate top losses across site
Continuous Improvement
- Strong working knowledge of Continuous Improvement/TPM methodologies
- Supports the development of equipment technicians to enable Autonomous Maintenance practices
- Provides leadership in the utilization of advanced problem solving methodologies (Why-Why Analysis, Fishbone, Focused Improvement)

Technical Training and Coaching
- Identifies equipment loss based training needs across the site
- Develops and delivers technical training to all levels of the organization
- Develops capability of others to act as technical trainers/coaches

Technical Leadership
- Participates in strategy development for Maintenance/Reliability team
- Leads loss reduction efforts to improve equipment reliability, manufacturing cost, and safety
- Supports capital projects by leading design for reliability and maintainability activities

REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical from ABET accredited program
- Minimum 5 years experience in maintenance, reliability, and manufacturing
- Good understanding and a broad range of experience in equipment design, fabrication, and maintenance
- Knowledge of the different crafts skills, duties, and capabilities
- CMRP and ICML certification desired or willingness to complete in 12 months
