SCHEDULE: Full-time

Our 231-bed hospital specializes in maternal/child health, surgical services on both an inpatient and extensive outpatient basis, urological services including lithotripsy, cancer care with state-of-the-art radiation therapy, rehabilitation therapy programs and a wide array of diagnostic imaging capabilities. Reston Hospital Center is a certified Stroke Center, certified Total Joint Center and the only accredited Chest Pain Center in Northern Virginia. We are the only Hospital in Northern Virginia to receive Joint Commission designation as a Top Performer on Key Quality measures for 3 consecutive years. Reston Hospital Center is currently seeking an Anesthesia Technician to join our Anesthesia team.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Anesthesia Technician ensures adequate levels of supplies and equipment needed for the delivery of anesthesia to the surgical population of the Operating Room. Assists in the care of surgical patients, transporting patients, or performing other duties to aid in the smooth operation of the department.

Plans, provides and maintains equipment and supplies based on patient and physician needs.

Utilizes principles of aseptic technique in creating and maintaining a sterile field.

Demonstrates flexibility to perform other functions within the Operating Room and Surgical Services to assist in the smooth operation of the department.

Promotes cost containment while delivering quality patient care within the Operating Room
*

Orders and organizes specialty anesthesia supplies and equipment.
*

Assists in providing a safe environment for the patients.

QUALIFICATIONS

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

* High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)

*

Current BLS or BLS instructor through the American Heart Association * Previous experience with Direct Patient Contact

* Certified Anesthesia Tech Preferred
