JOB SUMMARY
The  NPI Leader will spearhead NPI activities within Wireless R&D.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership and Team Responsibilities
Performance Responsibilities:

• Frame the high-level tasks for successful NPI, so we can communicate to the operations and leadership teams about our plans.


• Establish a Jabil-owned NPI plan for Wireless products.


• Work with Shanghai team to adapt our past JDM NPI experiences forward into the Jabil-owned ODM NPI process.


• Establish and drive a pilot project through the factory to test / prove capability, before real product NPI.  Initial work will be with Guadalajara, but flexibility to work with Ukraine and/or Wuxi factories in future.

Communication:

• Provide an open communication forum for the exchange of ideas and information within and outside the department.


• Organize verbal and written ideas clearly and use an appropriate business style.


• Ask questions; and encourage input from the team members.


• Assess communication style of individual team members and adapt own communication style accordingly.


• Frequent presence in the factories to train and assess capability. 

Business and Functional Development Responsibilities
Business Strategy and Direction:

• Know and understand the business development team strategic directions.


• Responsible to drive delivery of export-controlled components to their manufacturing destinations, within governance requirements.

Cost Management:

• Identify creative ways to reduce cost by streamlining processes and systems (i.e. modification of responsibilities or consolidation of tasks, elimination of non-value-added processes, or complete re-engineering of processes and systems).


• Utilize tools to monitor project costs and cost trends, striving continuously to improve value and tools.

TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Frame the high-level tasks for successful NPI.


• Drive the development and maintain processes and methods for NPI.


• Identify internal and external resources that can support Wireless R&D NPI.


• Help provide the lowest cost NPI solution that meets the internal and customer needs and expectations.


• Guide and oversee the development of NPI requirements, interfaces, and specifications necessary to maintain the consistency and integrity of the product.


• Oversee NPI documentation at a system and product level.


• Work to develop partners and suppliers, when applicable to provide the best technical and cost solution.


• Make Jabil shine in customer interactions; RFI/RFQ and kickoff interactions.


• Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by management.


• Comply and follow all procedures within the company security policies.


• May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree, in Engineering & MS Engineering preferred, MBA a plus.


• Minimum of fifteen (15) plus years’ experience required


• Or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience
