Broad Based Compensation leader – NA and LaTM markets


 

Level – Director.


 

This role is responsible for leading the broad-based compensation function and providing leading edge vision for ensuring compensation in the America’s  at Cognizant Technology Solutions is competitive, meaningful, performance oriented, aligned with business priorities, and is simple and clearly communicated. The ideal leader thinks big and has a track record of operating in a fast-paced high growth environment. This role leads a team compensation subject matter experts to ensure strong client support and partnership across the total rewards team, across HR, and with the business, to enable effective and optimized compensation strategies, plans, processes and decisions that achieve the key tenets of total rewards and enable progress towards our mission.

Role Description

·       Act as a leader, mentor, and coach to the broad-based compensation team to ensure continuous learning, and improvement of technical skills and professional development skills

·       Foster the movement from administrative support to highly performing consultative and strategic client support; coordinates and assigns work activities to enable appropriate prioritization of internal and external requests

·       Cultivate innovative responsive compensation strategies and decisions at point of new hire, transfer, promotion, and annual focal merit review cycle

·       Lead initiatives in support of the Sales Compensation Committee, including in-depth review of proposed sales incentive plans, SPIFs, and other items governed by the Sales Compensation Committee. Provide oversight and strategic direction for sales comp governance and guidelines. Ensure compliance with all governmental regulations related to sales compensation and programs

·       Partner with senior leadership in the business and in HR on strategy to anticipate future needs and interventions and design plans that can be responsive and meaningful

·       Crate a culture of continuous analytics and monitoring of current programs in order to align to strategic priorities and talent needs such that compensation is part of the proposition that can attract, engage, and retain top talent

·       Monitor the competitiveness of compensation through continuous job evaluation, benchmarking, participation on market data surveys, maintaining relationships with third party consultants, partnering with HR/ Business, and assessment of geographic differentials

·       Optimize the administration of annual merit and promotion cycle, the annual corporate short-term incentive plan, and additional business area specific incentive plans. Monitors budget and salary structures to be internally and externally relevant and consistent

·       Ensure proper standards and procedures are followed to enable proper controls and full compliance, strike the right balance to eliminate burdensome obstacles, and create appropriate protocols and processes that can sustain high growth as we scale and build


 
Qualifying Criteria
 

·       12-15 years of progressive experience in compensation with at least 5 years leading the Compensation function of a large company

·       Subject matter expert in compensation principles, practices, and analysis

·       A strong understanding of best practices, current trends, and market benchmarks, ideally across US and Latin America markets.

·       Hi Tech and Consulting industry background preferred

·       Ability to influence and develop strong working relationships with multiple partners, including executives, line management, his/her peers in human resources, and the broader employee population

·       Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to package and present complex analysis and recommendations clearly and comfortably

·       Working knowledge of HCM software (Workday a plus!) and data reporting and manipulation

·       Microsoft Office including Word, PowerPoint, and demonstrated advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables, VLOOKUP’s, advanced formulas, and use of VBA/macros)
