Job Description:

Responsibilities:

• Provide financial analysis, modeling and interpretation of data related to future and existing sustainability projects. Interact with external finance teams where applicable

• Take an active role on issues related to energy procurement and energy-related capital projects, renewable/carbon and critical environments

• Work with project management teams to insure the implementation of life cycle cost evaluation approaches which explicitly include energy and sustainability considerations

• Carry out broad and complex assignments requiring comprehensive knowledge related to energy efficiency, renewable/carbon offsets and sustainability services offered by the Global Energy and Sustainability platform

• Leads development, due diligence and underwriting efforts for energy efficiency and renewable energy projects

• Leads cross-functional team efforts including liaison with internal and external customers, renewable energy and procurement groups, development management teams and Global Real Estate departments

• Develop and present energy and sustainability status and variance reports and conducts energy and sustainability team meetings

• Oversee and direct the monitoring and reporting of energy use and spending trends to ensure consistency across the region/portfolio

• Provide oversight and direction in conducting LEED gap analyses

• Direct Energy Star, LEED-EB, LEED-NC, LEED-CI and LEED-CS certifications across the portfolio. Develop objectives, scope narratives and financial summaries (including payback analysis) in support of certification efforts

• Develops and implements global strategy, goals, and metrics related to sustainability programs

• Coordinates regularly across functional teams to drive sustainability throughout the organization

• Leads cross-functional team efforts including liaison with renewable energy, development management teams and Global Real Estate

• Develops and maintains data tracking systems for environmental metrics globally, and uses this information to present a clear and compelling message

• Sets and manages climate change strategy, including goal setting, reporting, calculation of operational carbon footprint, and overseeing studies of supply chain carbon

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in real estate and/or financial services industry, or consulting company

• Masters of Science in STEM or MBA degree preferred

• Financial modeling, budgeting and forecasting background required

• Possess understanding of controls, control framework and effective root cause analysis

• Experience in governance and oversight

• Experience is structuring renewable energy and energy efficiency projects

• Strong analytic skills and ability to develop/manage complex reporting

• Strong control orientation, analytical, communication and negotiation skills

• Ability to build rapport, garnering respect and appropriately exercise authority in a collaborative cross-cultural environment

• Self-starter with the ability to meet or exceed deadlines, prioritize, multi-task, and maintain flexibility in fast-paced, changing environment

• High level of professionalism, self-motivation, and sense of urgency

• Solid organizational, project management, and multi-tasking skills

• Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
