Washington Trust has an opportunity for an experiencedSecondary Market Specialistto join our Mortgage Operations team in Westerly, RI or Glastonbury, CT. This position will support the Retail Lending business line bymonitoring capital market conditions, obtaining investor commitments on all conforming mortgage loans, monitoring mortgage pipeline, tracking, packaging and delivering to various investors.

We are seeking a self-starter with a desire to be a member of this outstanding team.We are seeking someone who is self-motivated to manage their time appropriately to handle multiple projects and deadlines.Strong decision-making, problem solving, and interpersonal skills are required.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES

-
Setting mortgage interest rates based on pricing and bond market conditions.

-
Creating and distributing rate sheets to Bank personnel and advertisers.

-
Performing best execution analysis for every loan sold, maximizing profit while minimizing fallout and pair off risk.

-
Selecting loans and conduct mortgage loan sales to various investors, ensuring against market risk.

-
Packaging and delivering loans in compliance with various investor requirements.

-
Monitoring mortgage pipeline and track sale commitments through delivery and funding.

-
Funding loans on tracking system and OSI and make appropriate G/L entries.

-
Preparing and reviewing various management reports from Access and Excel to monitor production, sale commitments, delivery deadlines, pricing analysis, substitution/pair offs and pipeline/warehouse risk evaluation.

Reconciling Financial Admin. records to Monthly Sale Report to ensure proper financial reporting.

-
Compiling information for anticipated funding for budget forecasts for Sr. Management.

Performing all necessary steps to ensure compliance with servicing-released requirements, including insurance company notifications and goodbye letters.

Assisting in escrow analysis function.

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

-
Knowledge of mortgage-backed securities and treasury bonds preferred.

-
Minimum of AS degree in business studies, finance or accounting preferred.

-
Strong PC skills, Intermediate skills in Word and Excel.

-
3 years banking experience or its equivalent (i.e. other financial services or mortgage company).

Demonstrated high quality communication and interpersonal skills.

Detail oriented and exceptional organizational skills.
