Position Summary: Business Systems Intern

This internship provides university students with practical experience in business systems operations and support, development, and reporting. During the program, interns will be exposed to various technologies and tools, will assist with daily operational and system processes and support, and focus on opportunities to automate manual work flows. Interns will also explore data and reporting. We are looking for students who are quantitative, curious, creative, have a high attention to detail, and effective communicators. In exchange, we will offer challenging assignments, opportunities for networking, and formal and informal training. Sample deliverables include:

• Learn and support daily processing of account renewals, user steps, and data reconciliations, coordinating with underwriting and the business team


• Monitor mailboxes and SharePoints for requests and execute those requests


• Coordinate with business and IT to identify opportunities for automation in the areas of operations and reporting and develop solutions for automation


• Develop reporting dashboard in Qlik utilizing multiple data sets


• Assist in developing test plans and executing business user acceptance testing

Qualifications

• Pursuit of a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Accounting, Business, or related major with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0


• Strong verbal and written communication skills


• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team


• Ability to learn and add value in the assigned discipline and department


• Attention to detail


• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences


• Exposure to the following programming languages is a plus: SQL, Python, R
