The Ohio Department of Health’s Bureau of Health Preparedness is seeking one (1) energetic project coordinator candidate to fill our available Planner 3 role to assist with vaccine planning.

Specific Duties:

• 
  

  Works in the Bureau of Health Preparedness and has primary responsibility for incident response

  
  


• 
  

  Supports development, exercising, and execution of the agency’s emergency response plans

  
  


• 
  

  During emergencies, staffs the ODH Department Operations Center and/or the State of Ohio Emergency Operations Center

  
  


• 
  

  Engages local and state response partners during all phases of emergency management

  
  


• 
  

  Supports local preparedness efforts and provides subject matter expertise on emergency preparedness and response

  
  

 Preferred Qualifications: 

• 
  

  Degree in emergency management, public health, homeland security or a related field;

  
  


• 
  

  Previous experience writing emergency response plans;

  
  


• 
  

  Previous incident response experience (e.g: ICS and EOC);

  
  


• 
  

  Fluency in NIMS and the ability to serve as a resource to agency colleagues and local stakeholders;

  
  


• 
  

  Previous experience with the PHEP/HPP grant or another federal preparedness grant.

  
  

*Position performs additional duties as assigned.

Completion of undergraduate core program or 24 mos. exp. in assigned program area (e.g., engineering, landscape architecture, rehabilitation, mental health technology, transportation, physical, behavioral & social science, urban or community planning, natural resources, business or public administration);

9 mos. trg. or 9 mos. exp. in operational, mathematical, analytical or statistical research methods used in conducting & documenting research studies;


1 course or 3 mos. exp. in public relations;
 
1 course or 3 mos. exp. in budgeting;


1 course or 3 mos. exp. in technical writing or business communication;
