Job Description:

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Performs, with or without supervision, the procurement, accessioning, and performance of testing on pathology specimens. Interacts extensively with physicians, other technologists, management staff, nursing service, office staff, patients and visitors, both in-person and via telephone. Performs a wide variety of tests and examinations through the various departments, ranging from routine to Stat procedures. Participates in the training of personnel, performs Quality Assurance and Quality Control procedures as indicated by the individual test procedure. Participates in Performance Improvement and Continuous Quality Improvement activities.POSITION REQUIREMENTS

- Must meet the Georiga State Laws of Licensure of Clinical Laboratories, Chapter 290-5-29-.06 (4)(b) 1-4, 8. Can qualify under 290-5-29-.06 (4)(b) 7 but only for one year.

- Must be registered by the American Society for Clinical Pathology or registry eligible (registry eligible status is only recognized for a period of one year from date of hire.

WORK HOURS: 9a - 530p, Every 5th Saturday

WEEKEND REQUIREMENTS: Yes

ON-CALL REQUIREMENTS: No.
