Shop Driver & Material Handler
Job Summary:
Tucker Mechanical, Inc. is looking for a dedicated individual to fill the position of Shop Driver & Material Handler to support our Meriden, CT office. This position is responsible for supporting the warehouse and delivery operations of Tucker Mechanical.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Driving company trucks for delivery and pickup of material and tools to various job sites
- Loading and unloading trucks with tools and equipment in a safe and efficient manner
- Putting tool lists together for delivery to various job sites
- Organizing tools and equipment, including safety equipment in the warehouse
- Perform general warehouse duties
- Clean work area
- To make sure the vehicle they are using is properly maintained
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent relevant experience
- 1 to 3 years' experience as a driver (preferred)
- Valid Driver's license
- Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record at time of hire and continuously throughout employment and meets all fleet requirements
- Class B license (not required, but recommended)
- Ability to operate power equipment including a fork lift
- Strong decision making skills and ability to multitask is critical
- High sense of urgency
- English language reading and writing proficiency
- Team player
- Punctuality
- Ability to lift 50lbs
- Neat in appearance
- Good attitude
- Professionalism
- Must demonstrate commitment to company values
Comments:
Candidate must be able to work a flexible schedule as needed between the hours 6:00am and 4:30pm five days a week for this position.
