OBJECTIVE

This position ensures the finished products received into the facility meet Alfa Laval standards, customer expectations and regulations and products shipped are adequately documented.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF POSITION (outline job duties and responsibilities): 

Maintains Quality Standards by approving incoming finished products, documenting outbound goods, and recording quality results while maintaining a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures that comply with legal regulations.

ORGANIZATIONAL COMPONENTS

•    Inspect incoming parts by conducting visual and measurement tests to confirm parts meet specifications during the Goods Receiving Inspection (GRI) process  

•    Document and communicate rejected receipts and regularly monitor status to ensure parts are dispositioned in a timely manner 

•    Record inbound deviations for on-time inspections and putaway

•    Create and maintain Certificates of Conformity, Qdocs, and Material Test Reports (MTR) for customer orders and manufacturing orders in the database

•    Ensure appropriate paperwork is printed and packed with inbound and outbound returns in order to satisfy Alfa Laval’s standards and regulatory requirements. 

•    Inspect and evaluate customer returns to ensure returned parts meet the requirements for returns

•    Conduct temporary action investigations and assist with the resolution of claims to determine root cause and to prevent future errors

•    Contribute to the improvement of the ALPS Priorities (safety, quality, delivery, cost) by regularly participating in the ALPS program.

•    Provide inspection reports for internal and external customers

•    Manage and maintain the “re-inspection” of items with cure dates 

•    Review inventory and remove expired product from inventory

•    Update facility metrics as needed

•    Assist other employees with quality related issues

•    Ensure all customer requests of documentation are readily available for Quality Hold Orders

•    Reduce, reuse, recycle

KEY COMPETENCIES NEEDED

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION DESIRED 

•          Education (degree or years) and/or Certification/Registration: 

•    Associate degree in related quality discipline or equivalent quality work related experience

•    Minimum of 3 years’ experience in quality related field

•    Proficient in hand measuring tools - Required

•    ISO Lead Auditor Certification - Preferred

•    ASQ Certification - Preferred

•    Knowledge and proficiency in Lean Six-Sigma improvement tools including 5-S, DMAIC, Kaizen, SOP’s - Preferred

•    Proficient in using MS Word, MS Excel, Lotus Notes, Sharepoint - Preferred

•    Basic knowledge of WMS and Movex - Preferred

•    Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Attributes Desired in Candidate:

PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS

•    Physical Requirements (lifting, climbing, standing, equipment use): 

o    Ability to lift up to 60 pounds occasionally

o    Equipment operation (Forklift, Order Picker, Turret Truck)

o    Ability to stand for majority of the work day

•    Environmental Factors (hazardous materials, work location, work surfaces, exposure): 

o    Some hazardous material handling required

OTHER REQUIREMENTS (i.e., travel, motor vehicle use, etc.)

•    Other responsibilities as assigned
