The Inside Sales Representative will work cooperatively with Outside Sales to grow existing customers, create new customers and meet or exceed monthly sales quotas at the appropriate gross margin while increasing customer satisfaction.
Take and process orders from customers promptly and accurately using BisTrack.
Generate new and repeat sales by providing product and technical information in a timely manner
Determine customer requirements and expectations in order to recommend specific products and solutions.
Recommend alternate products based on cost, availability or specifications.
Present price, credit and terms in accordance with standard procedures and customers profitability profiles.
Accurately process customer transactions such as orders, quotes or returns.
Provide accurate information regarding availability of in-stock items.
Obtain accurate information from vendors relating to shipment dates and expected date of delivery.
Proactively recommend items needed by customers to increase customer satisfaction improve transaction profitability.
Increase sales and average order size by means of cross-selling, up-selling, add-on sales and offering promotional sale items.
Educate customers about terminology, features and benefits of products in order to improve product related sales and customer satisfaction.
Monitor scheduled shipment dates to ensure timely delivery and expedite as needed.
Contact customers following sales to ensure ongoing customer satisfactions and resolve any complaint.
Fill requests for catalogs, information or samples.
Remain current of consumer preferences, changes in local codes and product developments by attending sales meetings, vendor training and trade shows, or reading trade journals.
Set up and maintain customer files.
Identify trends in customer satisfaction and dissatisfaction.
Manage time effectively, meet personal goals and work effectively with other members of the team.
Communicating to the Purchasing Manager unexpected increases or decreases in demand for products.
Assist in scheduled physical inventory counts
Maintain proficiency in using personal computers, data entry into BisTrack and other office software applicable to the position.
Present a professional image communicating in a respectful, courteous and ethical manner with customers, vendors, co-workers and supervisors.
Comply with all company safety policies, procedures, rules and guidelines.
You are required to attend a monthly sales meeting. The date and time of the meeting will be provided to you in advance.
You will perform any other relevant duties related to this position as directed by management.
College degree preferred but not required.
Experience in the building materials industry preferred
Must have a valid driver’s license
Ability to quickly and thoroughly learn product information and technical concepts
Experience interacting with customers researching product options
Must be comfortable selling company products
Must be willing to take ownership responsibility for all assigned tasks
The ability to fulfill responsibilities quickly and accurately
Ability to work with team members from all company departments
