CAD Operator / at North Shore Steel in Houston, Texas

Job Description:

North Shore Steel is seeking a experienced CAD Operator to join our team in Houston.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The CAD Operator reports directly to the WO Processing Supervisor and responsible for preparing drawings and creating CNC nests for the production team.  

PRIMARY DUTIES:

Interpret customer supplied drawings

Convert customer supplied PDF drawings to SolidWorks files.

Create CNC nests in PrimeCut and ProNest for burn tables.

Create detailed structural part drawings in Tekla.

Create drawings for estimating purposes as required.

Maintain back up files of all drawings and CNC nests.

Updates software packages as applicable.                                                                                           

Verify NSS drawings match customer specifications.

SKILLS:

Knowledge of CNC plasma and oxy-fuel cutting capabilities.

Proficient in the use of SolidWorks, Tekla, Primecut, and ProNest.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.

Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task based upon priorities.

High level of attention to detail.   

EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent, 5 years of related experience.
