Job Responsibilities:
- Acts as the Company's primary resource and subject matter expert on workforce development programs.
- Develops and implements workforce development and technical training strategies, policies and programs, which support the Company's field workforce.
- Tracks and reports data to management to ensure employees have the required training and preparedness to effectively, efficiently and safely execute their assigned job responsibilities.
- Coordinates and manages the training programs for new electrical workers by guiding the recruiting process, assigning trainers,monitoring and assessing results, and facilitating final selections.
- Executes critical apprenticeshiptraining programs for electrical operations personnel.
- Develops and maintains current training curricula at the Company's Training Center and supports technology (such as Learning Management Systems) and advancements in field work practices.
- Maintainsexpertise through research, participation in trade/technical organizations, developing contacts/relationships with other technical trainingproviders, and ongoing personal/professional development.
- Provides leadership to the Workforce Development staff by recruiting, developing,and coaching direct and indirect staff.
- Develops, documents and monitors the workforce development budget. Develops mitigation plansas required to ensure departmental budget variances are managed and the approved budget is met.
- Other duties as required.
Education/Experience Required:
Required: Bachelor of Science degree in Business, Engineering, EHS, Human Resources, or related field. Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to effectively manage people and programs; knowledge and experience in planning and execution of workforce development programs. 5+ years of relevant, industryexperience.
Preferred: At least 3+ years of prior management experience. Electric utility experience including Transmission & Distributionconstruction and/or substation experience preferred. Experience with administering and supporting LMS. Higher level education such as a Master's degree, or applicable professional certification is desired.
