Responsibilities
The incumbent is responsible for sustaining an environment of intrinsic good will for the practice while providing optimum services to patients. This position requires the skills and ability to manage the level of responsibility and accountability necessary to provide specialized duties for the department/clinical team for which it is assigned. This position may also perform front office duties consistent with that of MOSC II, per operational needs.
Required Qualifications
* Minimum 2-years of recent experience in patient registration and medical insurance verification within a medical environment (equivalent of MOSC II duties).
* Minimum 2-years of recent experience processing referrals and patient scheduling (equivalent of MOSC II duties).
* Minimum 1-year of the above experience completed with Epic EMR.
* Recent experience obtaining insurance authorization.
* Experience handling telephones or multiphone line.
* Demonstrated working knowledge of computer systems and applications.
* Bookkeeping experience (including cash handling, reconciliation, or preparation of deposits).
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with cardiology related referrals and insurance authorizations.
* Experience manipulating Epic scheduling templates.
Special Requirements
* Must be willing to work variable days (including weekends), hours and locations as required to meet business needs of the practice.
* For positions with medical records responsibilities, duties require ability to retrieve and file bulky medical record charts (up to 3" thick) stored in filing cabinets and on shelves that may be above shoulder level and below waist level, and to efficiently transport multiple charts weighing 5 to 25 pounds throughout the medical office.
* This position may be subject to a criminal background investigation, drug screen, Live Scan fingerprinting, medical evaluation clearance, and functional capacity assessment.
