Position Summary:

The F5 Cloud Services (SaaS) team is building an exciting, dynamic, "startup like" environment and charting the course for F5’s future. Along with product leaders across F5, we are building and delivering cloud-native services for all major public cloud environments to help protect and accelerate and secure cloud-based applications. As the Director of Product Marketing for F5 Cloud Services (SaaS), you will develop an expert team to focus on deeply understanding and connecting with key influencers, communities and prospective customers. You will need to be able to “talk the talk” AND “walk the walk” with customers, the F5 sales force, analysts and partners. The role requires excellent writing skills in prose and presentation formats, and a proven track record of building amazing positioning, messaging, and omni-channel go-to-market strategies. You must possess strong situational leadership skills and have a passion and proven track record for attracting and developing talent.

Day to Day:


  • Be the biggest customer advocate in the room!

  • Lead your team to successfully execute product line and GTM strategy, and establish measurable goals and objectives that meet strategic goals while facilitating career growth and skill development

  • Drive the creation of thought leadership to engage CxO buyers and influencers on the business value of F5 Cloud Services

  • Connect with customers and the users of our open source technologies to define customer testimonials and case studies

  • Present to press, analysts, customers, and at events and tradeshows to raise awareness of F5 Cloud Services value to senior IT leadership

  • Partner with the marketing team to craft appropriate marketing programs, campaign concepts, and demand generation activity

  • Develop positioning that differentiates F5 Cloud Services in the market

  • Deliver incredible content: sales, customer, and analyst presentations, overview and datasheets, FAQs, briefs, case studies, webcasts and awe inspiring demos

  • Build market intelligence by understanding new and emerging F5 buyers, how and why they buy, and by understanding the competition

What You Will Bring to the Team:


  • A proven track record for attracting and developing talent

  • Deep understanding of the public cloud ecosystem and modern application development tools & services

  • Significant experience in technology marketing, preferably cloud services marketing

  • Experience working in a global role and understanding marketing/channel differences across different countries/regions

  • Great teamwork and negotiation skills, and the ability to work effectively across organizations in a global (often virtual) work environment

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills including public presentations

  • Strong interpersonal, analytical and execution skills

  • On call periodically or working outside normal working hours (evenings and weekends)

  • Duties may require the ability to travel via automobile or airplane up to 25 percent of the time

What You Have:


  • 10+ years of experience in product marketing within a technology company. Experience with Cloud services / SaaS tools

  • demonstrated ability crafting return on investment, TCO, whitepapers, and business justification content for IT leadership

  • Leadership and subject matter expertise via publications (placed articles, blogs, social postings) on a particular technology

  • An accomplished public speaker for both internal and external engagements

  • A real passion for enterprise software, open source software, and developer tools

  • Enjoy working in a multifaceted, venture-backed startup environment
