Diversity and Community Liaison at Hemlock Semiconductor Ops LLC in Detroit, Michigan

Job Description:

HSC believes it is imperative to our business to build a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workforce and culture.  The Diversity and Community Liaison Specialist will partner with employees, leaders, and community groups to build strong relationships that support HSC’s initiative of creating a culture that values diversity and service to community.


Essential Functions:



  • In collaboration with the Sr. HR Director and VP of Government & Public Affairs, determine and define the scope/objectives for Diversity/Inclusion and Community Relations programs, projects, and initiatives.

  • Develop and drive the company’s Affirmative Action Plan and metrics.

  • Establish and maintain a network of relationships with community organizations, businesses, and individuals to promote HSC programs and initiatives.

  • Conduct presentations and trainings including effective interview practices, bias awareness training, and employee brand initiatives.

  • Collaborate with Marketing to drive HSC branding and recruiting through social media outlets.

  • Identify and build key relationships with internal affinity groups.

  • Serve as the diversity and inclusion subject matter expert on internal and external best practices.


  • Partner with schools to facilitate and maintain a program of career preparation and co-ops for students.

Additional Duties:



  • Maintain documentation, create reports, and report on progress related to community outreach activities.

  • Assist in planning and implementation of events and community activities.

  • Respond to inquiries from community members and other interested parties.

  • Distribute approved marketing content through a variety of channels.

  • Provide on-call support for Public Liaison duties

  • Attend Community Events

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • 7 - 10 years: Working in HR, Public or Community Relations, Diversity and Inclusion, or other relevant work experience

Education

Required

  • Bachelors or better in Public Relations or related field

  • Bachelors or better in Communication or related field
