Laboratory Quality Assurance Specialist I is responsible for support of the laboratory quality systems and maintenance of QA records for laboratory quality and compliance.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Coordinate with Laboratory QA manager to ensure that all work performed in Myriad Neuroscience Laboratory is in accordance with local, state and federal regulation, organizational policy, and accreditation/compliance requirements.

• Take assist or lead in audits of internal systems such as equipment maintenance, sample receipt, and documentation. Help ensure that quality inspections are thorough and timely.

• Compiles quality data to capture metrics and production of quality reports

• Investigate incidents related to discovery of non-conformances/CAPAs within the facility and provide direction to production supervision and Facility/QA Management to assure proper containment and recovery of operations.

• Support of laboratory document control and proficiency testing processes

• Support of laboratory vendor management

• Performs other quality related functions as required by Laboratory QA manager

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

• Requires a 4 year degree in a scientific field.

• A minimum of 1 year of experience is required in laboratory, regulatory compliance, quality assurance, or in a CLIA/CAP/NYSDOH/FDA regulated environment.

• Excellent time management, scheduling, and organizational skills

• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

• Ability to work effectively under tight timelines and schedules

• Ability to work independently and as a contributing team member

• Ability to sense the importance or impact of issues and situations and take appropriate actions

• Must be flexible, innovative, and self-motivated

• Must have the flexibility to work extra hours to meet corporate and departmental goals

• Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skill
