4-Day School Week: Middle school English Language Arts teacher to join an Award Winning Team of professionals to teach students skills, knowledge, and scientific attitudes through courses in English Language Arts aligned with Colorado Academic Standards.

Course description:

Students will read a variety of genres, enhance critical reading skills, write in a variety of formats, enrich vocabulary and grammar skills, and collaborate and communicate with their peers. Reading will include short stories, novels, drama, poetry, Greek mythology, biography, and other nonfiction selections from Holt’s Elements of Literature. Students will write the following portfolio pieces: character analysis, thematic analysis, text-to-self, compare and contrast, original short story, original myth, original sonnet, and biography.

Salary: Commensurate with experience and education ($35,200-$42,600)

Schedules may be hybrid model for in-person and remote learning. All students have a Surface Go and all curriculum has online resources. The school follows all required local health and safety guidelines. Students are currently remote learning.

Requirements:

36 credit hours in English or valid Colorado teaching license with Secondary English Language Arts endorsement.

Specific knowledge of subject assigned;

Strong written and oral communication skills;

Previous teaching experience preferred or other work with children.
