NantKwest (NASDAQ: NK) is a pioneering, next generation, clinical-stage immunotherapy company focused on harnessing the unique power of our immune system using natural killer (NK) cells to treat cancer, infectious diseases and inflammatory diseases. NK cells are the body’s first line of defense due to the innate ability of NK cells to rapidly identify and destroy cells under stress, such as cancer or virally-infected cells.

Nantkwest is looking to hire an experienced Scientist for its Woburn, Massachusetts location that will be responsible for Independently designing, planning, executing and interpreting experiments to support and advance its cellular immunotherapy platform as well as manage project progress, and provide timely regular updates in achieving specific project objectives. The Scientist III will also keep abreast of the literature and advances in the field and demonstrate a high level of initiative in troubleshooting experiments and development of new methods/techniques.

Ideal candidates will possess experience with tumor associated immune cell-based functional assays (activation, differentiation, proliferation, suppression, target cell killing), cytokine analysis, primary cell isolation, basic molecular biology (ELISA, qRT-PCR, western blot).

Responsibilities:


  • Design and manage the execution of lab experiments to develop and qualify new research.

  • Work with cross-functional teams to advance development of NK cell products including tech transfer and support to Quality and Process Development

  • Author technical documents including summary documents of research projects,  generate SOPs,

  • Work with Cell Process team across the country in translational development process

Requirements:


  • PhD in immunology, cell biology, biochemistry, or biological sciences with preferentially at least 3 years of industry experience in the fields of cancer biology, immunology, or immunotherapy

  • Previous knowledge of clinical relevant research approaches for cellular therapy products

  • Expertise in tissue culture techniques (BSL-2) and virus transduction techniques

  • Expertise in multi-color flow cytometry; experience in high dimension data a plus

  • Good understanding of GLP or GMP processes is preferable.
