Job Description:

Equifax is looking for a skilled VP, Application Development to join our team in our Atlanta, GA headquarters.  The VP, Application Development will be responsible for the following: 


  • Setting the vision and strategy for multiple products or product lines.


  • Managing, coaching & allocating team resources, ensuring quality achievement of strategic information technology goals in a cost-efficient and timely manner while ensuring a healthy, productive and positive team environment. 


  • Providing technical advice, high level design and solutions to the project team. 


  • Ensuring the project timeline is met, development efforts remain on target, and deliverables meet project expectations within budgetary constraints and according to corporate quality standards. 


  • Ensure rapid resolution of production and operational issues.


  • Identify, recruit, develop, and retain a high performance team of managers and professionals.

What You’ll Do


  • You will design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve software


  • You will manage individual project priorities, deadlines and work you're doing


  • You have the ability to translate functional and technical requirements into detailed architecture and design


  • You will need extensive understanding of BDD/TDD practices, code review and analysis techniques, and open source agile testing frameworks.


  • You are part of a community and participate in code and design reviews to maintain our high development standards


  • You have a real passion for innovation! Any experience with Cloud Platforms like AWS, GCP and Deploying and automating infrastructure/applications using Chef, RPM, Docker, AWS (ECS, ECR), Terraform, etc. will help us on our exciting journey


  • You have experience in overall system architecture, scalability, reliability, and performance


  • Depending on level, you may work with product owners, UX and other business partners to define work for the team


  • You enjoy mentoring other engineers, having a voice in defining our challenging technical culture, and helping to build a fast-growing team (depending on level)



  • Passion for architecting and delivering products and solutions with an extreme focus on client needs, end user experience, and adoption strategy


  • Engage with the customers, internal and external product owners, SMEs to understand the customer journey, adoption strategy, product roadmaps, priorities, and time-to-market


  • Lean product development mindset to strategize, develop, and deliver innovative products and solutions in short cycles, ensuring customer needs and value


  • Strong communication and technical presentation skills for working across the organization, capable of building strong relationships with customers, leadership, SMEs, and peers


  • Previous experience leading R&D teams, cross functional, fullstack, high-performance delivery teams


  • Previous experience working directly with customers, product teams building trust, collaboration, whilst being able to overcome technical, cultural, or organisational impediment


Qualifications 


  • 10+ years of experience with deep application development expertise 


  • Comfortable presenting to clients and senior management, including being able to communicate complex concepts in simple terms to different audiences


  • Able to successfully execute in a fast-paced, matrix environment


  • Experience working in an Agile environment

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience required
