Equifax is searching for a Collections and Recovery Product Management Leader who has a desire to work on a winning team dedicated to providing customers with the right resources to help them succeed.  Responsible for the performance of a significant product portfolio or multiple portfolios, overseeing leaders of product managers who are responsible for taking products from inception and ideation through design, build, launch, growth, enhancement and eventual sunset. Responsible for ensuring the team manages the profit & loss (P&L) and budget objectives associated with the products, product lines, & product portfolios within their purview.

What You’ll Do


  • Responsible for the performance of a significant product portfolio or multiple portfolios, overseeing leaders of product managers who are responsible for taking products from inception and ideation through design, build, launch, growth, enhancement and eventual sunset.  Responsible for ensuring the team manages the profit & loss (P&L) and budget objectives associated with the products, product lines, & product portfolios within their purview.


  • Drive and manage the performance of product leaders, providing coaching, development and mentoring to ensure their successful leadership of the product managers. 


  • Set clear expectations for effective talent management and hold subordinate managers accountable for goal-setting, honest employee evaluations, and the incorporation of actionable development plans. 


  • Creates challenging roles and/or assignments to broaden skills within multiple product teams to ensure product function is able to meet short-term talent needs.


  • Foster in team the Equifax shared values and the values of our product management organization


  • Provide thought leadership and oversight for overall Market Understanding on products and product lines directly managed and others as consulted


  • Support team in evaluating priority and importance of customer needs relative to the value associated with addressing them


  • Oversee on-going market validation through review and testing of concepts with existing and prospective customers (voice of customer, customer advisory boards, etc.) to ensure maintained competitive advantage


  • Advise on strategy and development of strategic partnerships ; oversee product approach on build, buy partner strategy 


  • Consult on commercial model and packaging decisions 


  • Create the vision and develop the strategy for product portfolios; articulate the strategy across the organization and ensure alignment with key stakeholders 


  • Consult on business case and product roadmap design


  • Design objectives through Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for team and hold accountable subordinate managers to design of objectives leveraging KPIs


  • Drive Build, Buy, Partner approach and decisions for the products, product lines, & product portfolios within purview


  • Provide partnership and guidance throughout the product delivery process to ensure strong collaboration with product development, product marketing, and delivery teams


  • Articulate product trade-offs across portfolio and drive alignment 


  • Provide thought leadership and oversight on the design and on-going implementation of strong feedback loops to gather the external (customer/market) feedback on product performance and differentiation throughout development


  • Demonstrate customer-focused innovation, and provide leadership that enforces a customer-first mindset and performance


  • Provide thought leadership and approach for assessment and planning of the portfolio's future strategy 


  • Drive leader execution of ongoing product management of portfolio offerings to ensure attainment of revenue and margin objectives 


  • Oversee efforts to maintain awareness of and champion on-going sustained competitive differentiation across product lines


  • Establish and maintain communications with critical customers in order to understand their needs and receive their feedback. 


  • Anticipate the future needs of customers, disseminates that information across product organization and implements programs designed to create customer value. 


  • Holds the team accountable for understanding of market demand, demand trends, market problems, and the value of solutions to customers and the market.


  • Anticipate business and regulatory issues that affect product discipline and function, and identify/implement measures to optimize outcomes for Equifax. 


  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and industry peers, building a strong understanding of current issues and the strategies used to guide the product function.


  • Identifies and addresses complex technical, operational and/or organizational challenges


  • Makes decisions guided by functional business plans that impact the support and funding of projects, products, services and/or technologies - even when substantial amounts of information are unknown, demonstrating a willingness to take calculated risks.


  • Develops and implements tactical operational plans that align with business objectives


  • Identifies and initiates efforts to achieve objectives, teaching others to accept accountability for meeting and stretching to exceed results in a timely and cost-effective manner


  • Ensures accountability for full ownership across the team to achieve goals.


  • Ensures broader organization understands market segments as well as market data trends relative to managed products to maintain organizational awareness of: Customer usage and satisfaction, product operational metrics, competitive standing relative to other alternative solutions


  • Drives use of product data to deliver product performance (financial, competitive) against objectives and manage lifecycle decisions across the managed products.


Qualifications 


  • BS degree in Business Administration or related field or equivalent combination of work experience


  • 10 - 15 years experience working in full cycle product management;  4+ years with sole responsibility of a product portfolio


  • Experience in defining and managing products at a global scale; that is, products that are delivered in multiple countries / regions around the world.


  • Working knowledge of Software as a Service, enterprise software platforms and applications. Experience working in cloud-based technology environments is a plus.


  • 8+ years experience leading a cross functional team, delivering results through the work of team, driving and manage performance within team, providing coaching and direction to Product Managers, developing and set expectations across team, manage talent development across team


  • Exemplify the Equifax shared values and the values of our product management organization


  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of market opportunities as well as broad industry and market awareness to drive financial and operational performance across products. 


  • Deep knowledge of market and customer needs to drive innovation and influence trends across industries; 


  • Demonstrate understanding of portfolios as well as the execution of product definition and opportunities of prioritization


  • Developed and maintained strong relationships with a diverse set of internal and industry peers, building a strong understanding of the issues facing Equifax and the product function.


  • Technical knowledge of products to meet customer needs by managing across the cross functional team delivering, implementing, and supporting the product across it's lifecycle including: Development, delivery channels, customer implementations, customer support, product enhancements


  • Influence and ability to persuade others internally and externally, including senior leaders, recognizing existing tensions among different teams and encouraging effective management of conflicts by challenging behaviors and advocating for others.

  • Industry experience working in a credit-related business area is a plus.


  • Experience at an information-based company is a plus.


  • Served as a subject matter expert, thought leader, and spokesperson for a product portfolio, sharing vision, business case,  etc. to all internal and external audiences and stakeholders
