Job Description:

Project Manager position to support the growth and profitability of Regal's PTS Gearing business.

Candidate will manage the Gearing Business growth and cost-out project deck and lead various large projects, including but not limited to new product development (NPD), large customer projects, and productivity improvement programs. This position is also responsible for leading Value Engineering design or cost-out projects of varying size and complexity. The position will have a number of project managers and design engineers reporting directly to them.

Responsibilities:


  • Plans and manages timeline, budget and team to execute multiple complex projects. Develops counter measure alternatives to programs that don't meet schedules.


  • Executes a single major project or multiple projects of lesser complexity across the various functions within the Gearing business.


  • Selects and develops team members, and applies countermeasures to improve team deficiencies. Teaches project management fundamentals to team members.


  • Identifies and improves project team interactions through implementation of project management techniques. Coaches and develops project leaders and individual team members in project management.


  • Ensures compliance to existing Regal project management processes and recommends process improvements.


  • Coordinate activities in support of large design and product-related projects.


  • Design (concept through production) and redesign of standard, custom, and modified mechanical power transmission products.


  • Direct and coordinate detailed component and assembly specifications and the qualification and validation of product designs.


  • Interact with Sales team to translate customer requirements into formal product/project scope.


  • Work with global design teams to accomplish project goals.


  • Investigate and solve technical problems arising in design, performance, manufacturing, and quality.


  • Follow Regal Beloit Ethics and Safety Programs.


  • Follow State and Federal Environmental Compliance Programs.



  • BS Engineering; BSME strongly preferred


  • Strong understanding and application of project leadership techniques and tools


  • Strong engineering judgement and risk awareness


  • 5 years experience in project management, design, or manufacturing environment


  • Solid understanding of product development principles and practices


  • Advanced root cause analysis skills and tools


  • Customer-related technical and voice-of-customer (VOC) experience


  • Professional, high-energy, with excellent communication skills


  • Self-motivated, capable of working with minimal supervision


  • Constructive team leadership and people development skills


  • Digitization and organizational skills


  • Competent in Microsoft computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)


  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills


  • Undertake work in an efficient and timely manner


  • Team-oriented and able to lead or coordinate multiple projects of varying size


  • Project Management certification (preferred)


  • 1-4 yrs of industrial product design experience (preferred)


  • Lean Six Sigma (Greenbelt, Blackbelt, or DFLSS) (preferred)


  • Rotating equipment design experience (preferred)


  • Gearing and/or gearbox experience (preferred)


  • Experience in using industry standards such as AGMA, API, ANSI…. (preferred)
