Social Media Manager - Intern Position

Job Description:

As the Vertica Social Media Manager - Summer Intern, you will manage our social media accounts by implementing strategies and tactics thatgrow, engage and retain, and help convert our followers into qualified leads, customers, and active fans and promoters of Vertica worldwide.

The role is be based in Cambridge, MA.

Responsibilities:

- Build and manage the company's social media profiles and presence, including Twitter and LinkedIn as well as additional channels that may be deemed relevant.
- for specific networks to spread both our brand and our content.
- Monitorand engage in relevant social discussions about our company, competitors, and/or select industries, both from existing leads and customers as well as from new audiences.
- Run regular social promotions and campaigns and track their success (e.g., Twitter chats, LinkedIn discussions, etc.).
- Evaluate social media management platforms and recommend best option.
- Work alongside Marketing Program Managers and content marketersto help distribute content that educate and entertain our audience supporting marketing KPIs.
- Drive consistent, relevant traffic and leads from our social network presence.
- Explore new ways to engage and identify new social networks to reach our target buyers.

Education and Experience Required:

- Currently enrolled in a 4-year college program, business/marketing preferred.
- Experience managing and promoting via social media channels a plus.

Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong written/oral communications.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Excellent communicator and creative thinker, with an ability to use both data and intuition to inform decisions.
- Proficiency in using(e.g. Hootsuite) to monitor social media conversations. You will be our ear to the ground to route the appropriate marketer, sales rep, and/or support rep to social conversations.
