Job Description:
Position Summary: The Medication Assisted Recovery Counselor provides group and individual therapy to promote personal growth and resiliency in the form of emotional, cognitive, behavioral and/or psychological changes in clients with a primary mental health diagnosis. This includes performing continuing assessment of the client's needs and functioning, maintenance of appropriate documentation and development and implementation of personal growth plans consistent with the client's therapeutic needs. A Counselor is required to use independent discretion and judgment when providing services to clients. As part of Centerstone's team-oriented philosophy, a Counselor is expected to actively participate in variety of cross-functional teams and performance improvement initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications: Requires a Master's Degree in Human Services and demonstrated skill in performing clinical services, or a Bachelor's Degree in Human Services and 3 years relevant employment experience. Bachelor's level must have 3 years substance abuse counseling experience and a CADC; Masters Level must have certification or licensure within the required time frame mandated by DASA Staff Qualifications (or within 2 years of hire, whichever comes first). Must have valid driver's license in applicable programs. Direct Service Providers utilizing electronic/automated documentation systems. Salary based on qualifications and experience. Requires successful completion of background checks, good driving record, and ability to utilize computer/electronic systems.
