Nice-Pak Products, Inc. (NP) is the global developer, manufacturer, and marketer of pre-moistened wipes for the consumer market, specializing in personal care, hygiene, household cleaning, and disinfection products.

We're currently looking for a Manager of Analytical & Product Testing in our Montvale, NJ location.

POSITION PURPOSE:

The Manager of Analytical & Product Testing is a new role within the Nice-Pak R&D organization to help establish and advance our overall analytical and product testing capabilities. In this role, the Manager will be responsible for building a new team and upgrading the existing lab to better support analytical, wet chemistry, stability, and product performance testing needs for Nice-Pak's wet wipes portfolio. This role and the new team will support new raw material assays, product analyses (actives, key ingredients), competitive benchmarking, stability testing, product performance testing and method development for cosmetic, OTC and EPA regulated wipes. This role will serve as a key partner for Manufacturing/Operations QC labs regarding method transfer and validation. The Manager of Analytical & Product Testing will work cross-functionally with Nice-Pak's R&D Product Development teams, Regulatory, Quality, and Manufacturing/Operations to support existing business needs and to help advance projects from concept to launch. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:

- Lead efforts to enhance existing capabilities by establishing a new team and lab to support analytical and product testing needs for Nice-Pak's wet wipes portfolio including baby wipes, facial wipes, flushable wipes, antibacterial hand (OTC) wipes, surface cleaning wipes, and EPA disinfecting wipes

- Assess current instrument and team capabilities, submit proposals and execute aligned plan to address capabilities/gaps working closely with supervisor

- Once lab and team are established, manage day-to-day operations to support ongoing analytical chemistry (previously outsourced) and product testing needs for the R&D product development team including sample analysis, competitive product testing, active/stability testing, and new method development to support new product innovations

- Oversee the product/stability testing program and conduct standard analytical (wet chemistry, HPLC, etc.) testing on specific product stability samples (active, etc.) and competitive samples and report findings

- Manage and lead the development of new methods and processes to support product development and new product innovation

- Support R&D and Operations with problem-solving/analytical support when potential issues arise; guide and advise the team on recommendations/potential solutions

- Coordinate any external analytical testing and drug stability needs with approved 3rd party partner contract laboratories, UL testing facilities, etc.

- Manage and oversee all testing activities and prioritize tasks based on product development and business needs

- Build and maintain close partnerships with R&D Technical Project Leaders and Managers to support projects and address needs and issues when they arise

- Manage the documentation and data in reports, notebooks, LIMS, etc.

- Foster personal development growth with continuous coaching and feedback on career development partnering with HR and direct line manager

- Supervise and develop any assigned direct reports

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

- MS/PhD in analytical chemistry and or a degree in a relevant scientific discipline

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:

- Extensive knowledge of analytical chemistry, wet chemistry methods, product testing, stability testing, and method development and validation

- Prior knowledge and understanding of personal care and household cleaning product chemistries

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

- 10+ years of relevant experience working in analytical chemistry and or product testing roles; prior management experience preferred

- Experience with wet chemistry methods, method development, and validation

- Prior experience working on cosmetic, personal care, and or surface cleaning products; prior experience working with regulated products (OTC, EPA, etc.) is preferred

- Proven track record of results working in analytical chemistry and or product testing

WORKING CONDITIONS:

LABORATORY & OFFICE ENVIRONMENT:

- Manager of Analytical & Product Testing will work in a laboratory and office environment with some travel to manufacturing facilities
