Position Summary:

In this job role, you will apply design and technical skills to solve new product development challenges on an advanced R&D team. Creativity and resourcefulness using industrial experience is highly valued on speedy execution with maturity and sophistication. Fundamental knowledge in plasma system design, chamber design for semiconductor processing, high power electronics and plasma physics are the specialty background looked for in this job. Past accomplishments in the area of ozone are preferable. We expect the candidate to have a successful track record of product development releases in a corporate environment. The new hire will lead hardware design activities, share responsibility in design and experiments in a cleanroom and prototype lab context.

Position Details:

- In a cross-disciplinary role, consolidate fundamental knowledge of plasma and ozone process technology related to our existing products and design new product to meet dynamic business needs

- Propose novel ideas with rationale, taking ideas from incubation stage to prototype, and collecting scientific data to prove the concept & feasibility

- The success of this job emphasizes rigor in concepts & feasibility study, meeting performance and cost targets of the design, speedy execution to capture market trend

- Develop the design principles & rules, scaling laws based on experimental results & economic data, and continue to improve until reaching customer's satisfaction

- Interface with product engineering and application engineering to provide solution to customer concerned problem.

- Generate and protect new Intellectual Property (IP)

Requirements:

- Ph.D. in Mechanical & Electrical Engineering, Nuclear and Plasma Sciences, or equivalent scientific degree with at least 5 years of relevant full concept product design experience in a corporate setting. MS degree with 7+ years' experience in corporate product design will also be considered

- Hands-on design & instrumentation skills including mechanical and electrical hardware 3D CAD design, integrated complex systems control

- Provide innovative and creative ideas for problem solving, integrating technology, and generating both patents and publications

- Significant computational and software skills including numerical simulation experience using software (such as COMSOL, ANSYS etc.)

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Experienced with semiconductor capital equipment or scientific instrumentation systems.

- Manufacturing processes and equipment a plus
