Job Description:

Essential Job Functions:


  1. Collaborate with directors, managers, programmers, and users in conceptualizing and development of new dashboards, metrics, reports and analytics.

  2. Analyze and assess existing business systems and procedures.

  3. Ensure the efficient utilization of data resources across different business units and global locations.

  4. Develop global maintenance schedules for BI and data warehousing systems.

  5. Ensure best practices are established for effective problem resolution for a high availability, 24/7, global environment.

  6. Support the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of BI/EDW systems, including data architecture, data integration, high availability, security, and data privacy.

  7. Assist in the development of the short- and long-term strategies for the corporate BI/analytics program to ensure effective delivery of information that meets current and future requirements.

  8. Analyze existing operations and make recommendations for the improvement and growth of the BI/EDW architecture.

  9. Conduct research and remain current with the latest data technologies and solutions in support of future data management procurement efforts.

  10. Utilize SAP Business Objects, Cognos, Power BI, Tableau, DB2, Oracle. Teradata, MySQL, SAP HANA, Postgres.

  11. Ensure change management practices conform to organization-wide standards.

  12. Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with the organization’s executives, department heads, and end users regarding information-based decision making.

  13. Design and deliver end-user training and training materials; provide technical support as necessary.

  14. Develop the semantic layer, metadata, reports, and report definitions.

  15. Troubleshoot BI tools, systems, and software; performance-tune these applications.

Education/Experience/Skills:

Required:


  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or in any related field of study

  • Five (5) years in the position above, as a Data Analyst, BI Developer, Senior BI Developer, BO Administrator, Business Systems Analyst, Technology Functional Lead, Programmer Analyst, or in a related occupation.

  • Experience must include five (5) years use of the following: SAP Business Objects, Cognos, Power BI, Tableau, DB2, Oracle. Teradata, MySQL, Postgres.

  • Good Understanding of Datawarehouse Concepts.

  • Experience in building in Data Model like Star Schema, Snowflake.

  • Creating, modify tables in DB2, Oracle.

  • Equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.

  • Excellent understanding of coding methods and best practices.

  • Able to communicate effectively with non-technical staff and with members of interdisciplinary teams.

  • Hands-on experience developing test cases and test plans.

  • Flexible and adaptable regarding learning and understanding new technologies.

  • Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Ability to conduct research into software-related issues and products.

  • Highly self motivated and directed.

  • Keen attention to detail.

  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.

  • Experience working both independently and, in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

 Desired:


  • Proficiency in writing simple to complex SQL (Structured Query Language)

  • Proficiency in creating, modifying business objects universe and reports.

  • Thorough understanding of operating systems such as Windows Server, Unix, Linux.

  • Extensive relational database experience with DB2, Oracle and SQL SERVER.
