Job Description:

The Associate Manager, Warehouse and Central Shipping is accountable for the defined business objectives for the Warehouses, Shipping, and Transportation activities across the Bay City Site.

These include Safety, Quality, Environment, Cost, Customer Service, and Morale (Team Involvement and Development through deployment of Success Drivers and High-Performance Work Teams.) Reporting to the Lead Manager of Production, this position works closely with other Plant Support personnel including, Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE), Quality, Production, Training, Engineering, Facilities and Maintenance, and Planning to deliver results.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work with leader to monitor, report and develop actions to deliver on Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)


• Continuous improvement of Warehouse and shipping processes, systems, tools and team capabilities utilizing Lean tools to address losses


• Coach and Develop High Performance Work Teams in a continuous improvement environment


• Support hiring, training, and evaluation of Warehouse/Shipping center teams across multiple shifts


• Ensure compliance with Company, Federal, State, and Local regulations


• Balance the prioritization of the needs of the Warehouse/Shipping center, Business, and Production Operations in order to meet department and site goals


• Utilize effective communication channels and skills with other teams, to share information and accomplish goals

REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPEREINCE/COMPETENCIES:. 

• Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience in Operations or Warehouse/Logistics Management with a minimum of 1 year of People Leadership Experience (coaching, development, performance management, etc.) for a team, preferably across multiple shifts.

PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/COMPETENCIES:

• Experience with SAP (Warehousing, Transportation and cost transactions)


• Strong verbal and written communication to reach multiple audiences


• Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite and Logistics/Production Management Software, like SAP, etc.


• Lean Certifications (PKL, PKE, Greenbelt, Kaizen, or equivalent) and experience in leading the implementation and utilization of Lean practices and tools


• Troubleshooting expertise in automated material handling systems (Conveyors, Palletizers)


• Demonstrated high degree of Safety and Quality Awareness & Focus


• Demonstrated ability to plan and organize activities to meet business objectives


• Strong initiative for self and as a leader, with proven success in dealing with ambiguity and working independently to achieve results

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Full time On-site, with operational support outside of core business hours as needed to support a 24x7 / 365 Manufacturing environment


• Travel minimal to none


• Ability to work in a Manufacturing environment including seasonality, noise, stairs, and ability to lift 50 pounds
