Summary of Role
Assist in the development, communication and implementation of standards, guidance, and training material for the Association Peer Review Program with the goal of enhancing the quality of accounting, auditing and attestation engagements performed by public accounting member firms.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities
Maintain in-depth knowledge of the technical aspects of the Association Peer Review Program (Program) and an understanding of the administrative processes.
Provide guidance and assistance to the State CPA Society peer review committees, peer reviewers and firms on peer review issues, which may include issues related to GAAP, GAAS, quality control and other standards.
Serve as the staff liaison to the Association Peer Review Board (Board), its advisory task forces and committees responsible for assisting in the development of meeting materials and providing research/project assistance.
Develop standards, guidance, practice aids and other materials for firms, peer reviewers, state CPA Society peer review committees and others on technical matters.
Work closely with peer reviewers and firms in identifying and resolving questions and issues, including firm non-cooperation and reviewer performance issues.
Perform peer review working paper technical reviews and oversights.
Keep apprised of new standards and services being developed by other Association teams and outside the Association and determine the impact on the Program. This includes but is not limited to the activities of the ASB, ARSC, Ethics, GAO, DOL, IASB, IAASB, SEC and PCAOB. Share this information with the other members of the team on a timely basis.
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Required Experience, Qualifications & Education
Minimum 5 years current public accounting experience
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field
CPA designation
Preferred Experience, Qualifications & Education
Preferred experience with ERISA and A-133 engagements
