Bit Repair Specialist/Shop Hand at Superior Drilling Products in Vernal, Utah

Job Description:

Superior Drilling Products is looking for a Bit Repair Specialist/Shop Hand to work in its Vernal facility.  This is an entry level position with the ability to progress based on performance.

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED. 


• Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record. 


• Skilled welder or professional experience using a torch. 


• Ability to work overtime and weekends when necessary.


• Self-motivated, responsible, and disciplined. 


• Ability to stand for up to 10 hours a day.


• Ability to pass a drug test.


• Attention to detail in physical tasks.


• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and withstand seasonal temperature fluctuations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certified Welder.


• Knowledge of metal grinding.


• Extensive professional experience using a torch or welder.

Responsibilities:

• Accept assigned work for the day and complete it before leaving.


• Follow all standard operating procedures (SOP’s), repair guidelines, and quality standards. 


• Ensure a safe work environment.


• Prep tools to start repair process.


• Braze, debraze, and flamespray PDC bits and other products. 


• “Grunt and Grind” PDC bits and other products. 


• De-braze PDC drill bits for reclamation of cutters.


• Sandblast PDC drill bits and other items. 


• Inspect own work and that of teammates as a quality control. 


• Bondo and Paint PDC Bits and other products. 


• Cleaning and other general maintenance duties. 


• Use of machine and hand tools.   


• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
