POSITION PURPOSE:

The Senior Scientist-Household Wipes position is a critical role within the Nice-Pak R&D organization, supporting product development and providing technical oversight for household/surface cleaning wipes for our Branded and Private Label wet wipes portfolio. In this role, the Senior Scientist will serve as a lead formulator and project owner for assigned projects covering household cleaning wipes, EPA registered disinfecting wipes, EPA sanitizing wipes, lens/electronic cleaning wipes and other common household cleaning wipes. This role will work cross-functionally with Marketing, Sales, Operations, Regulatory and Legal to advance projects from concept to launch to achieve desired milestones and objectives. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:

- Lead technical and formula development aspects for assigned projects and advance them through the product development process, working cross-functionally with Nonwoven Engineering, Packaging, Marketing, Consumer Insights, Procurement, Regulatory, Legal and Operations

- Utilize technical expertise and formulation skills to identify new wet wipe ingredients, technologies and benefits for household/surface cleaning wipes, and develop new products that address consumer needs

- Coordinate all technical testing and claims support needs for new wet wipe developments including performance testing, stability testing, safety tests and consumer in-home use studies

- Work with internal and external partners to identify new technologies and innovation opportunities that can be applied to Nice Pak's wet wipes portfolio for potential innovation and business growth opportunities

- Collaborate with Marketing and Project Management to develop, prioritize and execute assigned project portfolio

- Support the development of technical product strategies and plans for innovation projects and execute with excellence

- Develop, write and validate new test methods to support new technology/benefit claims as needed

- Partner with Operations/Manufacturing to validate and scale-up new household/surface cleaning wet wipe product developments and innovations; issue justification proposals for any new equipment/process required to support new innovation development and manufacture

- Build detailed technical knowledge of the household/surface cleaning wet wipe product portfolio and leverage within daily activities

- Foster personal development growth with continuous coaching and feedback on career development partnering with HR and direct line manager

- Supervise and develop any assigned direct reports

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

- Bachelors' Degree in Chemistry or related, relevant scientific discipline; Master's degree is a plus

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:

- Understanding of the Product Development Process from concept ideation through launch

- Computer proficiency (Outlook / Word / Excel / Project)

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

- 5-8+ year's prior work experience in the development of new products for household/surface cleaning applications; previous experience working with nonwovens/wipes is an advantage

- Proven track record of developing and launching new products as part of a cross functional team

- Prior experience working on regulated and or EPA products is a plus

WORKING CONDITIONS:

LABORATORY & OFFICE ENVIRONMENT:

- Associate will work in a laboratory and office environment with some travel to manufacturing facilities
