As the Vice President, R&D Strategy, Portfolio and Project Management Office, you will manage the overall Strategy, Portfolio, and Project Management R&D team. You are a proactive leader with the ability to make quick decisions based on fact and in alignment with company objectives; the ability to accept and lead change; the skills to influence and communicate goals to scientists within teams as well as cross-functional partners across sales and management and external clients.

You will collaborate with the CSO, R&D Division VPs with the development, communication, and execution of IFF's Enterprise-wide Innovation Strategy with focus on leading enterprise-wide R&D portfolio management and decision-making with IFF's CEO, CFO and CSO. In this role, you will help deliver technologies and solutions that enable IFF to improve its win rate, sales, and margin performance in line with the overall R&D Strategy.

You will spend your time...

- Helping develop an R&D strategy in line with overall IFF R&D and Enterprise Strategy and Goals.

- Supporting and partnering with CSO and R&D Heads with the development, refinement, communication, and execution of IFF's R&D Strategy.

- Developing business and commercial implementation strategies for new Business Models / Product Adjacencies

- Owning and governing the process to manage company-wide Innovation through IFF's Innovation Council and Business Integration Teams

- Coordinating and facilitating regularly scheduled R&D Strategy and Innovation pipeline updates and reviews - Quarterly Innovation Reviews, Technical Deep Dives, BU Connects

- In collaboration with finance, directing annual budgeting and periodic forecasting for R&D

Job Requirements

Required Experience

- Degree in a science and business discipline

- At least 15 years of work experience with a minimum of 5-10 in a leadership/management role

- Proven track record of innovation in industry or academic

- Excellent communication skills, ability to manage through complex situations

- A proactive leader not a reactive one

- International experience or culture would be preferred

- Ability to make quick decisions, based on fact

- Excellent internal/external presentation skills to clients

- Ability to accept and lead change

- Strong leader yet humble

- Generous listener as well as being authoritative
