Job Description:

 OU Physicians is Oklahoma's largest physician group and encompasses almost every adult and child specialty.  

 

This position is located in the Cardiovascular and Pulmonology Clinics.

 

POSITION INFORMATION: Assist with the daily functions, patient outreach, and identification of community resources for patients, patient counseling and education for the cancer clinics Stephenson Cancer Center.
 
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:


  1. Patient counseling and referral as appropriate for patient needs; assists in coordinating patient care; responsible for the on-going daily management of patient continuity of care for patients entering and followed through the multi-disciplinary clinics; organize and assist with conducting community outreach on behalf of the program.

  2. Maintain program of customer service for patients in the clinical setting; create and conduct surveys for evaluating satisfaction of the users of the program; participates in and initiates advancement of hospital, staff, community, and patient relations; survey and follow-up with referring providers to ensure high quality customer service; and meets with patients to ensure customer satisfaction with the program and hospital experience.

  3. Utilizes and or creates databases for tracking and following patients through out-patient clinical settings; organize and analyze program data on a regular basis; create and maintain referring physician informational databases; and maintain all documentation and files on behalf of the program.

  4. Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.

Education:   Bachelor’s Degree in Health Education, SocialWwork, Psychology, Nursing, or a health related field
 
Experience:  12 months experience in large medical or other clinical care setting
 
Equivalent/ Substitution:  Will accept 48 months equivalent experience in lieu of a Bachelor’s Degree
 
Skills:


  • Proficiency and experience with creation and utilization of databases in Excel and Word

  • Excellent computer skills in Electronic Medical Records

  • Ability to type 45 wpm

Preferred:  



  • Oncology experience 

  • Medical terminology 

  • Working knowledge of Indian Health Services
