Senior DevOps Engineer Windows Applications - Evernorth at Cigna in Memphis, Tennessee

Job Description:

Cigna is seeking a Senior DevOps engineer with specific experience leading the development of Windows focused DevOps tools to accelerate business application product releases.

This position is with Evernorth, a new business within the Cigna Corporation

Responsibilities:

• Identify key patterns and gaps in patterns that will limit overall stability of prototypes and propose solutions to meet both technology and process gaps


• Enhance existing DevOps tools to automate CI/CD pipeline configuration.


• Drive DevOps maturity by working closely with .NET software engineers and helping mentor less experienced DevOps engineers.


• Lead development and infrastructure communities on Continuous Delivery journey


• Manage source control and its influence on the SDLC and DevOps Processes


• Learn and adapt emerging technologies to Cigna's environment


• Present at internal conferences and provide demos of emerging technologies, to a broad range of skill levels


• Create prototype designs and working demo applications across organizational responsibilities, working closely with appropriate teams and with technology leadership.


• Support evolving technologies include micro-services, internal and external clouds, PaaS solutions, software defined networks, flexible storage solutions


• Leverage a data driven approach to test and learn as changes are introduced or observed in the environment

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.


• Ability to write code with proficiency in a C#


• Strong demonstrable experience in system design (coming from a development background)


• Experience with Binary repository tools (Artifactory and/or Quay)


• Deep experience with orchestration tool Jenkins AND TFS


• Expert in .NET build tools  (MSBuild)


• Experience using Gitlab/ GitHub and TFS


• Have operated in a hybrid-cloud environment (AWS, Azure and/or on-prem kubernetes OpenShift)


• Experience deploying .NET application to both traditional infrastructure as well as containerization platforms.


• Working understanding of infrastructure and development paradigms.


• Significant experience working with deployment tools, with a preference for tools that support pipeline as code models


• Experience implementing or advising application transition from monolith to component based architecture, ideally using containers or PaaS solutions


• Experience using automated methodologies to design and solution processes that support and maintain DevOps pipeline tools


• Experience defining team roles and access structure that meet compliance and regulatory needs


• Moderate to extensive experience working with Windows Server


• Expert level in scripting using Powershell and Infrastucture as Code tools Terraform and Ansible.


• Comfortable in Windows including reading logfiles, shell scripts and profiles


• Understanding of infrastructure and DevOps Tools administration


• Java / Python / Go experience would be beneficial

This position is not eligible to be performed in Colorado.
