Job Description Summary
This is a skilled position involving the maintenance and repair of construction equipment.
•Operates and inspects machines or equipment to diagnose defects.
•Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts using hoists and hand tools.
•Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
•Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
•Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
•Repairs or replaces defective parts.
•Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.
•Lubricates and cleans parts.
•Welds broken parts and structural members.
• Other duties assigned per supervisor.
Requirements
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required. • Ability to follow verbal and written instruction.
• Ability to do basic math.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
• Commercial Driver’s License with Tanker & Hazmat Endorsements is required.
• DOT Medical Card is required.
• MSHA certification is preferred.
• Swing shift schedule, with ability to rotate if needed.
Education/Experience
•High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; and three years maintenance experience required.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to crawl, kneel, bend, and reach with hands and arms above their shoulders. Consistently appears for work at scheduled work time. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move anywhere up to 100 lbs. Physical agilities test may be required. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid outside weather conditions; and extreme cold and/or heat. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
