Position Overview

We are currently seeking candidates for a HMA Plant laborer at our Lansing, MI plant.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

• Assist the plant foreperson with daily operations and maintenance of the plant.


• Ability to access all areas of the plant to perform necessary maintenance and repairs.


• Greasing, Welding, cutting, wrenching, shoveling, etc.


• Responsible for keeping a preventative maintenance program current and documented


• Properly follow all company policies and OSHA/MIOSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment.  Report any problems to the Foreman, Superintendent, Safety Manager, or Human Resources Manager.

Education

• High school diploma or GED is preferred

Work Requirements

• Strict Adherence to safety requirements, procedures and personal protective equipment (PPE) policies


• Ability to work from high locations


• Must be willing to work long hours, including weekends and holidays


• Must be flexible with schedule to meet business needs

Knowledge/Skill Requirements

• An understanding of electrical systems and drawings is a plus.

Physical Requirements

• This position requires time spent walking, standing, bending, lifting and sitting.

Work Environment

• While performing the duties of the job, the employee may be occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.


• The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; outside weather conditions; and risk of electrical shock or burn.


• The noise level in some areas of the work environment may be loud, but is typically moderate.
