Position Summary:

Under moderate direction, performs professional level human resources work in support of the HR Director to implement and administer human resources policies, programs, procedures, and training. Acts as the first line of HR support for assigned employees.

 

Core Functions:


  • Provides the full range of Human Resources services from a more tactical perspective for assigned employees including, but not limited to, policy and procedure counsel/implementation, staffing and selection, performance management, compensation, as well as coaching, training and development of local management and personnel.

  • Interprets various routine HR plans, programs, policies and procedures for employees and provides advice and recommendations to business unit management. Assists in administration of policies and procedures, current state, local and federal regulations and corporate objectives.

  • Resolves employee problems or issues related to employee relations and performance matters.

  • Assist in facilitating employee learning and development programs as needed.

  • Participates in candidate selection process and conducts new employee orientation.

  • Acts as a resource for various HR special projects within business units or within corporate HR.

  • Maintains confidential employee data or files and prepares and/or analyzes reports related to such.

  • At the direction of Legal and senior HR management, conduct investigations related to policy violations, misconduct, or other circumstances that may result in disciplinary action.

  • Maintain HR subject matter expertise through continual self-education and practical application of HR-related initiatives.

  • Collaborate and coordinate with Global Mobility, Talent Management and Managers on international assignee assignment details.

  • May partner with business unit to achieve objectives or assist HR Director in partnering with corporate leadership to achieve objectives.

  • Engage in workforce planning, maintaining an awareness of workforce demographics, bench strength and operational requirements. Assist leadership in developing strategies to address workforce gaps and surpluses and proactively work to optimize talent.

  • Responsible for HR database data entry for employee and also review and correct field HR database forms for respective business units.

  • Provide training and respond to inquiries regarding on HR system such as ADP eTime, ADP Employee Self-Service, People@Bunge and our internal portal as needed.

  • Responsible for ensuring that key timeline goals are met with regards to performance management, compensation planning, and succession planning.

  • Ensure that our company portal is updated with the most relevant and accurate useful information for employees.

  • Onboard new hires and transfers into the St. Louis office.

  • Complete procedural tasks for terminated employees for respective business units.

  • Manage the relationship with our unemployment vendor as well as respond to inquiries for information as needed.

  • Provide HR assistance and support related to mergers, acquisitions, and plant closures.

  • Assist with facilitating training as needed.

  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Skill/Experience Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or related field or equivalent of degree plus years of related experience

  • 5 years of related human resources experience

  • Ability to maintain objectivity and discretion with confidential information

  • Exceptional customer service and team building skills

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization

  • Previous experience with ADA, FMLA, EEOC and AAP

  • MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint proficiency

  • Self-starter with the ability to work within a team environment
