Responsibilities

Qualified professionals are sought for our growing power and renewable advisory team, with responsibilities to:



  •  Help clients prepare for and address the pressing challenges and opportunities presented by changing wholesale power markets and the broader energy transition.

  • Plan and manage small to medium sized client engagements and discrete segments of larger projects.

  • Delegate assignments to staff, instruct and monitor progress, and review work product for completeness and accuracy.

  • Model and oversee the modeling of wholesale power markets, capacity markets, ancillary services markets, power generators, and energy storage facilities.

  • Demonstrate creativity and efficient use of relevant software tools, analytical methods and computer models to develop solutions. Prioritize assignments and responsibilities to meet goals and deadlines.

  • Assist senior staff with the development of time, schedule, and cost analysis.

  • Assist with preparation of expert reports including typing, editing, and proofreading.

  • Manage client relationships and communicate results and work product as appropriate.

  • Participate in group practice meetings, contribute to business development initiatives and office functions such as staff training and recruiting.

  •  Participate in a team environment and meet client deadlines and quality expectations.

  •  Assess technologies and analyze technology trends

  •  Model the performance of advanced technologies

  •  Perform statistical and economic analyses; data collection; spreadsheet creation and management.

  •  Possess high degree of self-confidence and determination.

  •  Highly developed organization and time management skills.

  •  Manage multiple time-sensitive priorities without diminished effectiveness.

  •  Demonstrate proficiency with spreadsheets, databases, word processing, and slide presentation software.

  •  Demonstrate/Exhibit strong conceptual, as well as quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.

  •  Work as a member of a team as well as be a self-motivator with ability to work independently.

  •  Constantly operate a computer and other office equipment to coordinate work.

 Basic Qualifications:



  • Bachelor’s degree in the areas of economics, finance, accounting, statistics, econometrics, engineering, or related subject;

  • Four to eight years’ prior work experience in energy consulting, energy finance, or relevant corporate roles;

  • Detailed knowledge of North American power market trends and regulations, including energy, capacity, and ancillary services markets; and

  • Strong, demonstrated writing and communications skills.

 


Additional Qualifications:



  • Master’s degree in the areas of economics, finance, accounting, statistics, econometrics, engineering, or related subjects.

  • Experience in wholesale power production cost simulation (using tools such as Plexos, PROMOD, Gridview, Aurora, or similar).

  • Detailed knowledge of international power market trends and regulations.

  • Knowledge and experience in oil and gas and/or coal markets.

  • Knowledge of or experience in corporate sustainability strategy or reporting.

  • Knowledge and experience with financial modeling and analysis.
