We are searching for a Pharmacy Tech Specialist to join our patient-centered team in a full-time position. The Pharmacy Tech Specialist functions as the Automated Dispensing Machine (ADM), resposnbile for coordination of hospital wide ADMs and for the day-to-day operation and monitoring of the system. In addition, there is responsibility for the day-to-day maintenance

What you will do in this role: 


  • You will coordinatesthe setup, installation and/or expansion of the system and communicate the status of the ADM product, projects, activities, and issues to Pharmacy, Nursing, RT, and Medical staffs.

  • You will monitor ADM provider dashboard to identify system issues and assist in resolving ADM system issues.

  • You will manage inventory of the ADM system, including recalls, separation of LASA, formulary changes.

  • You will monitor expiration dates of medications stored in hospital wide ADMs and work with housekeeping to establish a regular on-going schedule of ADM cleaning

  • You will review reports of nursing activities and discrepancies and refer to pharmacist or nurse manager according to policy and procedures.

  • You will establish daily batch reports.

  • You will  facilitate and monitor pharmacy staff training (new and current staff)

  • You will review and adjust inventory levels per system recommendations.

  • You will inform ADM provider of any internal changes that may affect ADM operation new drug entities to be added to ADM data base as necessary.

  • You will prepare monthly RX Auditor reports (request exclusions, prioritize low operational performers.

  • You will coordinate with ADM provider to schedule and perform regular preventative maintenance

 


Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree preferred. 

  • Minimum of 3 years inpatient pharmacy experience and 1 year experience with pharmacy automation and EHR systems.

  • Certification as a Pharmacy Technician for registered pharmacy technicians.
