POSITION SUMMARY
:
The Plant Trainer will conduct new hire orientation, training and coordination of continued new hire training on the shop floor. Provide training to existing employees in regards to safety and quality, as it pertains to manufacturing processes. Assist with 5-S / Lean Manufacturing training and implementation. Assist the OD&D Specialist with plant leadership to determine areas where additional training is required. Assist with development of training manuals and training schedules.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Evaluate and work with supervisors to determine type(s) of training needed.

  • Coordinate, create and implement programs at work that connect employees with business goals, specific to learning and facilitating.

  • Identify and evaluate business initiatives to ascertain appropriate programs that meet company goals.

  • Create effective strategic training methods.

  • Create competency models and skills matrix.

  • Develop, coordinate and conduct team-building exercises and workshops.

  • Identify specific work situations requiring employees to better understand work processes and procedures.

  • Diagnose potential organizational problem areas.

  • Recommend training and development systems.

  • Create definitions of desired individual or group performance.

  • Identify learning needs, development and delivery of learning programs for all team members and multi-cultural employee groups.

  • Utilize instructional design and adult learning principles to develop and implement a variety of learning programs; ensuring alignment with competency models and organizational goals and leveraging technology to broaden the blended learning experience.

  • Evaluate, assess and monitor outcomes of learning programs, providing follow-up to ensure desired goals are met and driving return on investment.

  • Develop training manuals and training schedules.

  • Specific training of Team Members can include, but is not limited to: new hire, 5-S, lean manufacturing, safety, quality, work instructions, team leader, leadership development, and any other training as needed. Update and maintain competency models and skills matrix.


  • QUALIFICATIONS :

    • Bachelor's degree in Organizational Behavior/Development, Training & Development or related field a plus comprehensive knowledge of training practices, principles and procedures with an emphasis in the areas of leadership development, development and facilitation of learning, technology and learning, training assessment and evaluation, learning needs analysis.

    • Excellent written, oral, presentation and facilitation skills required in the English language.

    • Demonstrated innovation and creativity in the development of communications, presentations, and systems to support training needs.

    • Skilled in training needs assessment, leadership development, project management, learning content development and delivery.

    • Exceptional interpersonal skills required (listening, coaching, facilitating, conflict management).

    • Demonstrated skill in assessing the impact of development initiatives.

    • Demonstrated ability to drive transfer of learning into the workplace.

    • Ability to successfully multitask in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

    • High level proficiency in MS Office is required.

    • Ability to travel for training to Morgan plants throughout the US in advance of the Orrville plant opening.

    • Bi-lingual in English and Spanish is preferred

    Working in an office environment in a seated position a minimum of eight hours per day is required. Also, this job operates in a manufacturing plant environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
