Position Description:
The Vice President of Business Development will be responsible for identifying and evaluating potential acquisitions targets and partners to help the Metrology & Materials Analysis (MMA) group of businesses expand financially and operationally. Another component of the role will emphasize the identification of new sectors and geographies to foster continued growth.

The key to the success of the position will be internal and external relationship development, and the collaboration with the Corporate Development team within AMETEK which is responsible for managing the due diligence process. Reporting to the MMA Group President, this role is a highly visible stand-alone position, and will assemble an internal support team when necessary.

Position Requirements:
• Undergraduate degree in Engineering or Physical Science with a PhD strongly preferred.
• 10+ years experience in an industrial company with broad market and international exposure
• Proven strategic planning experience with ability to foresee and evaluate technology and market trends in the industrial space. Markets include life sciences, materials sciences, pharmaceutical, photonics/optics, and semi-conductor.
• Strong analytical mind and ability to synthesize large amount of data into a cohesive analysis and/or plan.
• Self-starter with strong strategic thinking and negotiating skills that are balanced with a detail oriented work ethic.
• Proven ability to build effective relationships both internally and externally and be seen as a credible member of the Business Development team.
• Strong executive leadership and presence with the ability to influence across lines of authority.
• Positively influence the decision making process with timely and accurate analysis and communications.
