In this exciting role as a Manufacturing Engineer I for Needles Operations you will have responsibility for executing detailed process analysis to assure that the operations are working in accordance with standard procedures and quality regulations. Also, you will have to perform equipment and process evaluations to determine methods for collecting objective data to identify opportunities of improvements and determine actions to increase current performance of the operations. Provide technical assistance to manufacturing and maintenance personnel to correct discrepancies, to update or to improve the equipment, machines and toolings used on production.

A Day in the Life

  • Designs manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling.

  • Provide daily production support to set up, trouble shoot, repair, and monitor metal forming related processes & equipment.

  • Designs arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout.

  • Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.

  • Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.

  • May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan.

  • Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.

  • Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control, and may develop those techniques.

  • Provides guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.

  • Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.

  • Leads activities of root cause analysis associated with the Needles Operations processes.

  • Manage validation process related to new equipment, toolings, machines, processes in the Needles Operations as well as validation process for improvements on existing ones.

  • Team with manufacturing and quality personnel on a daily basis to review / disposition production defects and provides potential process and/or equipment corrective actions to assure production schedules and quality expectations are met.

  • Review product field returns to determine root cause of potential manufacturing defects then develop and implement effective corrective actions.

    Must Have: Minimum Requirements


  • Bachelor's Degree required with 0+ years of experience

    Nice to Have


  • BS/BA Mechanical Engineering

  • Knowledge on statistical tools.

  • Problem Solving skills

  • Validation process in regulated environment

  • Knowledge on Quality regulations (GMP, FDA, ISO, etc)

  • Manage CAD programs (Example: AutoCAD, Solidworks, etc)

  • Minitab
